Author: Irina Turina     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a mobile phone SideKick PV-250, also dubbed as the Shuriken. The device is developed by Sharp, and after the release from T-Mobile it might get the index of SideKick 4. Traditionally for the FCC, the site hasn’t provided photos and manual.

I’d remind you that the SideKick Shuriken is equipped with a QWERTY-keyboard and a slide-out display. Beyond the official confirmation, it features a 3” LCD, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a microSD slot. The official release is expected in 4Q 2007.

Author: Serge Novikov     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Samsung Electronics has its own F-series in the CDMA lineup, which however lacks design and music novelties of the GSM series. There is a good example of the SCH-F679 slider, which has been recently approved by the US Federal Communications Commission. The product features brand design, to be honest, monotonous one; and an average set of functions – an FM-receiver, a 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3-player and Bluetooth wireless technology.

The short technical specs of Samsung SCH-F679:

  • Network: 800 MHz CDMA 1X

  • Weight: 85 g
  • Display: TFT, 176x220 pixels, 262K colors

  • Sound: 72-tones polyphony, MP3-player, background mode, voice recorder (talk recording)
  • Memory: 12 MB, extendable with microSD cards

  • Bluetooth
  • SMS supporting "black listing", SOS
  • Misc: calendar, notes, calculator, dictionary, measure converter, 3D games.
