Today Sprint and RIM introduced Blackberry 8703e communicator with updated functions (EV-DO technology and GPS services).

The main specs of Blackberry 870e:

Today Nokia officially announced its new 3G slider phone with advanced opportunities of playing video content. The phone is called Nokia 6288.

Nokia 6288 features high quality video playback, the possibility to attach video clip to a contact, video sharing in real time. The phone is expected to be available in 3Q 2006 at the recommended price ˆ325.

Besides Nokia 6288 has compact size, two cameras (VGA and 2-megapixel) and a 512 MB storage card. As for the connectivity, the device supports Bluetooth with printing opportunity to compatible printers. The LCD has a QVGA resolution (240x320 pixels) and displays 262K colors. Nokia 6288 weighs mere 115 g and will be available in two color solutions: Cold White and Black.

GSPDA has posted the info about a new smartphone on its site – the Xplore M70. It is powered by Palm OS 5.4 and equipped with a digital keyboard, a touchscreen LCD and recognizes manuscript input. The smartphone makes the impression of a simple low-end model.

It is designed for GSM/GPRS (900/1800/1900 MHz) networking. Its LCD features a 2.2” diagonal, 176x220 pixel resolution, a 1.3-megapixel camera, an expansion slot for SD cards and Bluetooth interface.

The Xplore M70 measures 109x50x23.7 mm and weighs 131 g. Fed by a Li-Ion battery it can last for up to 240 minutes in the talk mode and up to 170 hours standby.

ASUSTeK Computer has introduced AiGuru S1 positioned as the “world first” wireless music Skype-phone. The device supports Wi-Fi (802.11b/g). Unlike Skype-phones involving Bluetooth for PC connection the S1 provides higher quality signal communication and wider wireless area.

Besides AiGuru S1 is equipped with a high quality speaker, so you can use the handset as an MP3-player, according to the company. Music can be transferred from PC via Wi-Fi. The device can be used as a remote control for Microsoft Media Player application.

The Li-Ion battery ensures up to 2.5 hours of talks and up to 25 hours standby. Measuring 117x46x23 mm it weighs 100 g.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a navigation system ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T developed by the Taiwanese company Compal Communications.

The X980T features USB and Bluetooth interfaces, an expansion slot for SD cards to store maps, a touchscreen LCD and plenty of opportunities to set routes, show shortest distances, alarming of road situations and so on. Maps can be displayed both in 2D and 3D modes.
