Motorola v635 – the renewal of the product line in 2005

At the meeting with the analysts, representatives of Motorola "accidentally" blabbed about a new product Motorola v635. And a corresponding note could have been seen in a presentation by Thomas Lynch, president and chief executive officer of Personal Communications Sector, PCS. In several days inert discussions of the product started, since there were no photos of the device but a photo of Motorola v600 was represented. During one of the conferences a real photo was displayed for about an hour and then an author took it away advisably. It is interesting that noone who saw it understood what it was.

Motorola v635 will be announced in the first quarter of 2005 and will appear in the market in the second quarter of the year. In many points the time of its appearance depends on the conditions in the market, the model is ready now and has not been developed any more (then it is more and more interesting to get to know from Motorola that v620 has still been in development). No doubt, the company has been developing software till today but hardware is already capable of working. Let me repeat that the release time depends on the appearance of the rivals and the sales of such products as Motorola v600, v620. The main changes of the device are:

  • EDGE
  • miniSD cards connector, hot changing, mp3 player
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • outer color screen (4096, сSTN, 80х96)

The screen remains the same of v620, shows up to 262000 colours and has the resolution of 176x220 pixels. As for the quality of the picture it is one of the best in the market. The appearance of the model was not changed considerably if to compare with А840, v710. And judging by it the same group of designers worked it out. Here are some photos of these devices for you to get some idea of the future project.

The outer antenna disappoints much, it will be smaller than the one you see in the pictures but it will exist. It is interesting that two replacing models for v620 will be produced at the same time. The second one has not still got an index but it is known that the outer antenna is absent there and it will be the cheapest device with voice interface in the product line of the company. The planned price for v635 in retail is $450 for the second quarter of 2005.
