Chinese Companies at MWC2011: Clones Galore

Chinese companies do produce hundreds of clones and offer them at exhibitions. Some companies are looking to cut expenses and add their logos to such clones and sell models far beyond China.

In this article I would like to highlight the latest fashion in phone cloning. Below you can see copies of different models from thin Sharp clamshells for the Japanese market to iPhone 4 and all sorts of HTC handsets: Diamond 2, EVO 4G, etc. Many pictures and few words. Scroll down to enjoy.

KONKA

The company has the biggest portfolio among its Chinese rivals at MWC 2011. You could find here clamshells, candybars, smartphones and even handsets for children were not ignored.

MASTONE

I like the models of the company for their good build. Some phones even use decent materials resembling soft-touch plastic. MASTONE offers tablets and Android powered smartphones among other things.

I will illustrate the level of specs typical of MASTONE models with the phone which picture is given below:

  • Platform: Android 2.2
  • Screen: 3.2” capacitive touchscreen of 320x480 resolution
  • Camera: 3 MP accompanied by a frontal VGA
  • Interfaces: WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS

SIM

Many Russian companies like RoverPC and Highscreen order their products from SIM. In comparison with the last year this manufacturer did not show many new models: several HTC clones and simple phones for calls.

The build is usually good and materials are acceptable as well.

Some more products from companies, which names I don't remember.
