Mobile-Review.com turns six

So, this is it – another anniversary and we are through another year that we spent together working on our joint project, Mobile-Review.com. Don’t pretend to be surprised, you should know better that You, our readers, contribute to this resource about as much as our regular staff members do. We try to address all your wishes and complaints and cover the most interesting stories in the telecom world to keep you informed. The very fact that you spend your precious time reading our articles proves this point – our efforts don’t end up in vain and you like what we are doing over here. This is as much of an achievement as we can only hope for.

We never really keep a close eye on our web statistics or waste hours of our time trying to figure out where we stand in the industry. However, we ran some numbers last year and came up with a bunch of pretty interesting results. For example, when we calculated the number of symbols in all our reviews and editorials combined, it turned out that in 2007 alone, and let’s put it mildly, we weren’t any worse than one of the most popular magazines in this field. But, the truth is, we made one very wild assumption – that the magazine had no ads at all, and all 120 pages in it were jam-packed with reviews and other stories. So, in just one year we churned out more articles than they would have in 3.5 years with that magazine. And after we accounted for our news articles as well, it turned out that we created five years’ worth of articles and news items for a respectable printed magazine in a year’s time. Naturally, you could argue that they have different standards and don’t aim to treat their audience with such in-depth materials, and can’t publish images that big. All valid points, but in our opinion, these are simply the drawbacks of printed media.

Furthermore, in our calculations we overlooked our forum that gets dozens and even hundreds of new members and topics daily. All in all, we’ve got a lot of things we can be proud of, and there is no bragging in this. If you take a look at what every Mobile-Review.com staff member does, you will certainly notice that this amount of work is usually done by 2-3 employees at other magazines and online resources. We simply keep doing the thing we really like and try to be good at it – that’s all there is to it.

Over these six years Mobile-Review team has seen many people come and go – and none of them lacked creativity, motivation or guts. And I just want to thank all these people for the work they do here.

Having built a solid crew, we are not going to just stop right here and settle down. One thing that matters to me the most is that all my colleagues get a lot of offers from other companies and are really sought-after professionals in this field. While many are still trying to “buy” our staff members, no one has succeed yet – on the contrary, these letters serve as a great source of entertainment at our regular meetings.

We are trusted by our readers, trusted by the companies we deal with – and honestly, this is pretty much the most valuable asset one can only hope to earn after six years in the market.

Thank you, our dear readers. They say, on such day we should only receive messages of congratulation, but now let me congratulate you as well. Thank you so much for being with us. In fact there is so much more for you in this day than for us. You have forged us this way and continue forging our site these days. Thank you for this – we will do our best to keep you entertained at Mobile-Review.com for years to come.

Editor-in-Chief,
